Wow. Almost a month exactly since last time I blogged. N.O.T.C.O.O.L.!!! I will try to make up for some lost time and eventually fill you in with everything that has been keeping me from blogging recently. But for this post, I wanted to share a few head shots of Scott Ford I took last month.

I finally finished editing Cassie’s shoot!! FINALLY! And here it is to share with you!

Cassie and I went to Gettysburg for this shoot, and being unfamiliar with that area, we drove around for awhile looking for a nice grassy weedy field to shoot in. You would think it wouldn’t be hard to find something like that in..hmm..say, Gettysburg!! But we did drive around for quite awhile. We finally settled on a place, and went straight into the weeds. It was perfect timing, because the sun was setting, and giving me the perfect sun-setting light I was going after.

When I came to edit these, I wanted to try new things. I have very specific recipes I use in Photoshop to achieve the look that is Ashleigh Schwindt Photography, but with this batch, I wanted to ditch all those, and play around with new actions. I tried to add more blue and purple tints, as well as pop the greens more. I even played around with my B&W recipes, and I definitely found one that I will be keeping in my collection from now on!!

Thank you so much for being the perfect hippie model Cassie. You did such a suburb job, and I had a blast taking your picture! I have loved getting to know you more these past few months, and look forward to all the future times we will have together. You are beautiful inside and out.

Sneak Peek – Cassie

So I’ve been incredibly busy this past week, and haven’t gotten as much editing done as I’ve wanted to. I am hoping to knock alot of work out this week. But here’s that sneak peek of Cassie I was telling y’all about. I absolutely loved this shoot. Hippie dresses, dead flowers, tall weeds, right at sunset with the gorgeous Cassie Hartman. Can’t get any better than that! More SOON!

I heart Jenny Shifler.

There are a few things that automatically make me think of Jenny Shifler. 1. Guitar Hero. 2. Margaritas. and 3. Hawaii. Hawaii? Really?! Yeah. She was planning a trip there last year that got cancelled. I was super bummed for her. I know, kinda random, but I really wanted to hide in her suitcase for that trip!!!

I’ve know Jenny for almost two years now. She is actually the person who set up the Ashleigh Schwindt Photography fan page on Facebook. I would have never done that on my own, but she believed in me, and it got over 100 fans in no time. We now have almost 800 fans, and I have Jenny to thank for starting that for me. Actually, she’s spread the ASP name around so much, I should just hire her as my marketing director/agent/manager!! Jenny and I met at church, connected through Facebook, and I ended up taking picture of her kids for a Father’s Day present last year. I’ve been wanting to take Jenny’s picture since then, and FINALLY, after over a YEAR, she agreed to it.

And dang, doesn’t she look GOOOOD!??!?!?!?!?

As I was editing these, with each one I was like, “Wow, Jenny Shifler is hott!’, ‘Jenny’s got sass!’, ‘Dang, Look at that look she gave the camera!!’, ‘Kris is gonna like that picture!’”

So plus 1! After waiting forever to take her picture, I finally got her in front of the camera. Another plus 1 for the pictures being absolutely AMAZING! Seriously, doesn’t Jenny look fantastic in every single one of these pictures?!?!

But what puts the icing on the cake, the ‘plus 1 infinity’, is that Jenny Shifler is one of the greatest friends I’ve ever known. She’s sweet and kind with a kick of spunk and sass, and I just love her. There aren’t many people you come across in a lifetime that it just feels normal to be around them. And Jenny Shifler is one of those people for me. I can’t even describe how comfortable and relaxed I am around her. She just eases tension and brings peace to me. I can be in a room full of strangers or stressful situations, but if Jenny is there, I feel better. Last year when taking picture of her coworkers, I was super anxious, and Jenny helped me get through that. She made me breathe, be calm, and reminded me that I am a photographer and I could do it. When placed in a room full of stressful people, Jenny can always lighten the mood and make me smile or laugh. We think alike and even think alike as to how we don’t think alike. (trust me, that makes sense) We can talk to each other with ease because we understand each other’s thought process. It just makes sense. And Jenny Shifler sends me the most hilarious most entertaining DM’s on Twitter ever! Everyone needs a Jenny Shifler in their life, and I am lucky to have already found mine.

Jenny is one of those people whom I always want in my life. I love her and she will always be very special to me. And c’mon, you gotta be one of a kind to be married to Kris Shifler.

It had been awhile since I’ve shot with the ultra talented Ms. Pamela Brenize. We get along great, mostly because I am her boss and am able to tell her what to do and she has to do it. That’s how people get along well, right? Regardless, I love shooting with her, she’s alot of fun, very talented, willing to learn, and has improved in her skill set dramatically since I met her last year. I am proud to be business partners with her, and even more proud to call her my friend. Also, love fake firing her, but that’s a different story…Right Pamela?

So Pamela and I got together to shoot the beautiful Alex a few weekends ago at Renfrew in Waynesboro. She goes to Chambersburg Area High School and is graduating next month. She is gorgeous and was a great model to work with. Her hair was perfect in EVERY shot! How does she do it, I don’t know?

Thank you Alex for being so pretty and sweet, and letting me capture you in a photograph!

So yesterday, to put it nicely, was the worst day of 2010 so far. I couldn’t go to bed quick enough last night, just so the day would END! I woke up, and started working on my computer…it froze. Hmm, that’s weird, I thought. So I restarted it and said to myself, ‘oh it probably just needs a break, it’ll be fine once it reboots’. Nope. It froze AGAIN! and again after that! So my day consisted or trying to fix it, but being unable to even CLICK on anything to TRY to fix it. 6 hours of this. 6 HOURS! I was a WRECK! I thought for sure I had killed it. So I quickly rebooted in safe mood and backed up everything. PHEW, it was all safe. I had all my ASP files, edits, psd’s, everything. I knew I’d be good if everything died after that. It was a gleam of sunshine of a very cloudy day. Anyways, in the process of backing everything up, I came across not one, but TWO shoots from last month I didn’t post.

So here I am posting away. From my FIXED, WORKING computer! Yes I fixed it. *Insert big smile on Ashleigh’s face.* After uninstalling, reinstalling, scanning, rebooting, rescanning I did manage or fix it. Yay, go me!

Anyways, onto the post…I actually can’t take credit for this shoot. Miss Pamela Brenize booked, shot, and edited most of these pictures! Didn’t she do a good job?? I tried to talk her into writing a blog about the experience, but she wouldn’t go for it. Oh well, maybe that can be one of her goals for 2010 ; )

Anyways, this is Zach. And since I wasn’t there for the shoot at Renfrew, I don’t know too much about him. Except, he’s quite photogenic, plays football, and has a great smile! That’s all I got folks…. Enjoy!!!

I absolutely LOVED photographing this family! Don’t you think they should be voted “The Best-Looking Family” of the year?! I DO! AH, so gorgeous.

We tried to squeeze this shoot in before Christmas, and we worked really hard at getting our side of the job done on time. The kids were so well behaved and so adorable. You might or might not recognize Mama Lauren in these photos. I took some maternity pictures of her a few months back. Seriously, look at her!! She’s goegeous!! Lauren, you look so tremendously beautiful!!!!

Thanks Bradley’s for allowing me to spend some time with you for this shoot. It was great catching up with you again and none of it whatsoever seemed like work for me!!!
