I have absolutely LOVED shooting in United these past few months. The lighting is just tremendous and the stage sets seem to be getting better and better with each series. An added bonus would be that 1. It’s a worship time and a great atmosphere to be working in. 2. The people on the worship team I can call friends, and I really enjoy taking pictures of my friends. 3. My 5D is WAAAAY better for this setting than my old camera..Sorry 40D : ( 4. I LOVE providing some rad Facebook profile pics for these peeps. Thank you guys for using my pictures!
I won’t be able to be shoot again in United until April, and I’m actually pretty bummed about that. I remember when I first started, I always got really excited to go to church to try to learn all I could about my camera in this service. But in turn, leaving the process feeling defeated. It took me months to learn how to shoot with low lighting, and just a standard lens. It was frustrating!!! But week and week, month after month, I eventually found the right settings, found the right places to stand, the right time to click to get those sweet light beams. It was great, I felt like I finally knew how to shoot concert photography. But after working on mostly that while I was getting starting using my camera, I wanted to try other things. I wanted to take pictures of kids, families, couples, friends. So I focused more on developing that side of my business and stopped shooting in United.
I like that fact that during the slow months, I am still invited to come and shoot in United. And with the purchase of my 5D, it just seemed like an obvious direction to go back to. I have loved the difference in my photographs, seriously, those extra mega pixels and other goodies really DO make a difference. On a different level though, not looking through a lens, this expereince is something you just HAVE to experience on your own! This isn’t your typical “service” and it’s not your typical preaching. You will be blown away with the relevancy of your life and the Word of God.
Well, I think that’s enough rambling for tonight. Enjoy!
Oh, P.S. I love when I get those emails that say “Insert Name Here commented on your blog post”. So feel free! : )
