OK, I do not like winter. It’s cold, gray, and unlikeable. Everything outside looks dead and bare. It’s just dreadful. As some of you know, I don’t have a studio, so when someone wants pictures done, let’s say in December or so, I am at a standstill for locations. The deadness of winter does not inspire me at all.
We’ve had a few requests for shoots this month, and I want to say, ‘well you’re pictures are gonna look DEAD’, but I just say it to myself, put on a happy face and go over ideas of the shoot and locations and such. My partner Pamela booked a shoot with a friend of hers and I don’t know who suggested it, but a mutual friend of ours opened up his landscaping business for us to shoot at. Imagine my thoughts for a moment… ‘Well what can you landscape in winter? Rocks?’ ‘All the plants will be dead’, ‘I dunno know about this Pam’
We arrive at our shoot and I walk into the greenhouse and it was GORGEOUS! Absolutely beautiful. AND IN THE WINTER!! The plants were green, there was a koi pond, a waterfall, ROSES!!!! I was pleasantly surprised and SO thankful Pamela came up with this location for us!!
Spring Rise Landscaping does excellent work, and I highly recommend using them for all your landscaping needs. They do landscaping, hardscapes, stone work, waterscapes, you name it! Hey, if you can makes things bloom in December, you’re as good as gold in my book : ) Thanks Ralph for opening up your place to us!!
Wanna see what it looked like? I didn’t have much time at the shoot, with nighttime coming to quickly, but I had to get a few shots in. Enjoy!
